About Us

Baaduri is a family winery with deep-rooted traditions in Imereti, though its commercial journey began only five years ago, when the old family house and wine cellar were restored. The winery’s name carries historical significance — it marks the year when the family’s ancestors relocated to the current area, where winemaking likely began generations ago. The wine cellar was originally founded by the great-grandfather of the current winemaker, who returned to the region after 18 years of exile. Baaduri focuses on natural winemaking, working primarily with Tsitska and Krishkhuri, and occasionally with Tsolikouri. No cultured yeast is used, and sulfur is applied minimally.

The wines are aged naturally, undergoing a two-year natural filtration process that highlights their clean, authentic character. Currently, the annual production is around 700 bottles, with plans to expand to 12,000 bottles in the coming years. The winery owns 0.7 hectares of vineyards and occasionally purchases grapes from neighboring villages, choosing suppliers based on vineyard care practices rather than systemic chemical treatment. The future goal of Baaduri is clear — to achieve global recognition while remaining distinguished by the quality and authenticity of its wines.
